2011-2012 Season Tickets Go on Sale on June 20
The Great Falls Community Concerts 82nd concert series goes on sale to the public
starting on Monday, June 20. Six wonderful concerts make up the season with a cost of only $70 for adults and $30 for students.
One $15 student ticket is available, on request, with each adult ticket purchased. At less than $12.00 per concert, the GFCCA
offers the best entertainment value in town.
The
new season offers a wide range of entertainment. The season opens on Tuesday, September 13, 2011, with The Water Coolers, a musical comedy reminiscent of Capital Steps.
With original music and parodies of familiar song,
on-point material about life and work, and superior comedy writing, this cast of five NYC comics and singers (with piano accompaniment)
celebrates the insanity of everyday life. Each performance is a high-energy, hilarious session of song and sketch comedy,
kept fresh by the ever-changing challenges of modern life. The Water Coolers turn headaches and hassles into hilarity.
The
second show in the series features Tribute to Frankie
Valli and Broadway. The Unexpected Boys have amazed
audiences all over the world with their award-winning tribute to one of the most recognized bands to ever hit the airwaves.
The four Jersey Wise Guys have performed in 12 different Broadway shows, including such hits as Phantom of the Opera. Les Miserables, Hairspray and Wicked. This concert is on Tuesday, October 18, 2011.
On Thursday, December 15, The GFCCA presents A Home Free Christmas, non-stop entertainment with nationally acclaimed vocal sensation, as they bring a fun-filledshow packed with unforgettable
moments that the entire family can apprfeciate. Home Free Christmas features an array of beloved Christmas classics, audience
favorites, Christmas around the world, and a flurry of other surprises. It’s a cappella at its best, at the best time of year.
The husband/wife team, Bottom Line Duo, performs on Thursday, January 19, 2012. They are one of three internationally touring bass and cello duos in history,
and have been thrilling audiences with their fast fingers, wit, and bows. With humor bordering on outright comedy, they deliver
a program with roots in chamber music and an amazing repertoire of modern and popular sounds. These accomplished artists prove
chamber music is accessible to all.
The fifth concert in the series, on Wednesday, March 21, 2012, features
New Orlean’s Hot 8 Brass Band. This group has epitomized New Orleans treat music for over a decade.
The band plays traditional Second Line parades, hosted each Sunday afternoon by Social Aid and Pleasure Clubs, infusing their
performances with funk and energy that makes New Orleans music loved around the world. The members of Hot 8 Brass Band were
born and raised in New Orleans and many began playing together in high school. What makes the Hot 8 so special is the sound
they coax from their well-loved, well-worn horns. They are frequently featured on Treme, the current popular
HBO series.
The final show of the season,
on Sunday, May 6, 2012, features a family of nine children from Alaska, via Branson, called The Redhead Express. The
provide a night of outstanding family entertainment and high-energy music. From hits of the 50s and 60s, to country, original
songs, traditional, bluegrass and old time music, Redhead Express will delight with tight family harmonies and hard-driving
instrumentals in their unique acoustic sound.All performances
except The Redhead Express begin at 7:30 PM at the Mansfield Theater in the Great Falls Civic Center. The Redhead Express
is a matinee at 2:30 PM.
